Parenting requires the perfected skill set of one of the world’s deadliest warriors; the NINJA. If you are new to my blog or don’t know a lot about me; let me fill you in. I love ninjas. I own a grappling hook and yes I have even used it. You can read about my love for ninjas here.
Anyway… I am not a Ninja parent yet, as my wife is ten weeks away from expecting our firstborn boy. But, thanks to the guys at HowToBeADad.com they have given (via Ninja Parent Lessons: The Ankle Claw) me the DaddyNoob some wise training on how to become a ninja parent. I will master the art of the ankle claw and prove that I am worthy to be called a ninja parent.
Later from the DaddyNinjaNoob.

Faja Day for a Ninja

Yes, I have a slight fascination to everything ninja related. I am not completely sure where it came from, perhaps it was from the 80’s cinematic expertise of either  ”American Ninja” or the more familiar TMNT cartoon. Either way, I have always loved the awesomeness of the ninjas. Over the last few years, my interest in ninjas has expanded to more modern masterpieces like the YouTube sensation, AskANinja or now my favourite competition TV show; American Ninja Warrior. Seriously, have you seen American Ninja Warrior? Those guys are insane. I sweat just watching them do the obstacle course. Insert sarcastic lazy remark here _______________.

Anyway, I know you’re asking, what does ninjas have to do with Father’s Day, or as I like to call it, Faja Day. And that is a very good question…

If we rewind about five months back, my wife was only a few weeks pregnant and asked me; “What are you most excited to do with the baby? What do you want to pick up for the baby?” When my wife asked me that, I quickly blurted my response without filtering it at all. I shouted it with amazement; “We should buy some rubber duckies!!!” Oh yes… I said that! I was as shocked as much as she was. She didn’t wait a second to say; “WHAT! Why would you say that, don’t you have anything else that’s better?” To be honest, she had a really good point. All I know is what went through my mind was seeing my child playing in the tub with rubber duckies. Random to say the least. No idea why I didn’t think about playing catch, paintballing, shooting gophers or watching action movies. You know man stuff that I was raised with. But nothing of such obviousness signalled through my synapses. Instead the awkward words of, rubber duckies filled our minds. After that night, my wife used my response as a joke for weeks to come. It was funny! Another marital moment that I will never live down. Good times.

So, with the combination of my love for ninjas and my random ducky comment, she found the best Faja Day gift for a soon to be dad. I woke up on Father’s Day and my wife gave me a pack of a ninja rubber duckies as you see in the above picture. It was a sure reminder of my randomness. Ha. It was awesome. I have the best wife ever, so hilarious! I love the ninja duckies! They are going to destroy in the epic battles of the tub. Oh yah!

Faja Day was surreal. I can’t believe next year during this time I will have a son that is nine months old. Craziness. And my son will be a ninja. For real! It’s already decided. So, in light of this passed Faja’s Day, what did you get/give as a gift? Any awesome ninja gifts?
